Do I need to submit an ID or email?
No. NearFriend is built on a zero-PII privacy design. You only pick an anonymous username and create your own 6-digit numeric passcode. We never ask for your email address, personal identification, or phone number.
What is the difference between "Same Camp" and "Any Camp"?
"Same Camp" exclusively pairs you with peers in your chosen camp (e.g., Main Camp with Main Camp). "Any Camp" pairs you with peers across all camps.
How does the Secret Reveal Card work?
To ensure your privacy, you start every conversation anonymously using a nickname and avatar. If you and your match hit it off and mutually click "Reveal", you can safely exchange your Secret Reveal Cards displaying your Real Name, bio, and social links (Facebook profile link or Instagram handle).
Can I recover my passcode if I forget it?
Because passcodes are cryptographically salted and hashed into irreversible strings without saving your email or phone, forgotten passcodes cannot be retrieved. Keep your passcode secure!
Is NearFriend free to use?
Yes, NearFriend is 100% free for all members. We are supported by non-intrusive display sponsorships and ads.
